Jura Automatic Espresso Machines - Cleaning & Maintenance
The task of maintaining your Super automatic Jura Espresso maker (impressa and ENA) properly us easy - whenever its time for a scheduled cleaning, de-scaling or filter change, the machine will simply let you know on the digital display.
It is very simple to follow the directions for cleaning and descaling, its an automatic process that takes only few minutes. Not performing the scheduled maintenance leads to stale coffee taste and to earlier than predicted visit to the service department...
 Jura Claris (Clearyl) Water Filter cartridge is NOT mandatory (according to Jura user manual) for usage and maybe very costly to some. You can program the machine to "Filter NO" and the machine will not notify you when to replace the filter but instead will notify you when to descale (decalcify) the machine. Descaling is important and much more effective as it removes all scale built up in the system bringing back the machine to "as new" state. Decalcifying is the preferred choice of most users since water in Canada are fairly soft and/or most have filtered or clean drinking water in their kitchens, therefore eliminating the need for filter and saving money as it cost much less to decalcify Jura Espresso machines than to replace filters.
The cleaning process takes approx. 10 minutes, the machine will ask for cleaning tablet after about 250 cups.
The decalcifying (de-scaling) process takes approx. 45 minutes however its pretty simple because the machine is doing it by iteself. The machine will ask for it after about 350-500 cups.
Cleaning and sanitizing the milk frother attachment Daily is very important because milk left over can build up bacteria. The best way to sanitize is by running hot water immediately after frothing milk and at least once a day running through with milk cleaner diluted solution.
Please do NOT ignore the basic maintenance. Ignoring will result in bad tasting coffee and may lead to scale and serious mechanical problems.
It is recommend to make sure that you program the machine to "Filter No" and always have the following items:

Milk Cleaner for Jura
